Catch A Glimpse Of the Spectacular 31st Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival 2015
This one of its kind Harbin Ice and Snow festival was first held in 1963. However, the Cultural Revolution halted this festival for years until it was resumed in 1985. Since then, Harbin located in Heilongjiang province of China has been holding this spectacular Ice and Snow Festival for the straight 30 years.
The 31st Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival 2015 is being celebrated in the beautiful city of Harbin, China from January 5 to February 25. The world’s largest ice festival is famed for its amazingly intricate sculptures that attract the most talented sculptors to come and showcase their talent. Harbin’s daytime temperatures in January range from minus 13-23 Celsius making it a perfect spot for such festivities.
The major attractions at the festival include spectacular displays of ice sculptures illuminated by coloured lights, ice lantern art fair, winter swimming watching, ice hotels, dog sledding, ice skating, skiing and snowmobiling are few to name. Up to 15 million people are expected to visit this winter attraction so, if you are looking for some serious winter wonders; head to Harbin till the festival lasts.
