Busiest Cargo Airport
According to the Airports Council International, Hong Kong International Airport (HGK) also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport, is the world’s busiest airport in terms of cargo handling. The airport overtook Memphis International Airport (MEM), USA in 2010, when it handled 4,102,984 tons of cargo on a yearly growth of 2.2%. With a floor area of 280,500 m², the airport’s SuperTerminal 1 is the world’s largest cargo terminal under one roof.
