Hyundai Tucson 2020 is a Mid Range SUV with a Lot to Offer

Hyundai is no longer a small and low-end loader manufacturing company as it can be seen filling the market with stylish and latest generation cars. Some of the new Hyundai cars are so full of features and so rich in style that they can compete with hefty automotive giants in the market. Hyundai Tucson 2020 is one of those cars. It is larger than the Koma and slightly smaller than the Santa Fe. Tucson comes in two four-cylinder engine variants with either an all-wheel drive or the front-wheel drive.

Tucson exhibits a sleek exterior and a comfortable and modern interior. Hyundai has kept the car simple but not too simple. The car is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment which is kind of a must these days given the competition. The infotainment system of the Tucson 2020 comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Tucson has automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist technology and much more to ensure a safe and focused drive.

Price range and recommendations of the Hyundai Tucson 2020

The base price of Hyundai Tucson SE is $24,690 and a full-option Ultimate variant costs as much as $33,040. The mid-range SEL offers most of the niceties that modern SUV shoppers want, including dual-zone automatic-climate controls, a rear-seat USB port, heated front seats, and Sirius XM satellite radio. Choosing the SEL also adds 18-inch wheels and silver-painted exterior accents that give the Tucson a classier appearance.

Hyundai Tucson 2020 package

The updates on 2020 Tucson are not so lavish as the 2019 model itself had a lot to offer. 2020 variant now features a wider range of colors, a leather wrapped steering wheel and for the Sport trim levels and above, a shift knob.

Engine, transmission, suspension and performance

As briefed earlier, the Hyundai Tucson 2020 comes in two power variants i.e. a 164hp 2.0-liter engine and a 181hp 2.4-liter engine. The former features a front-wheel drive while the latter, an all-wheel drive.

The suspension and handling of the Tucson is mediocre. It is certainly not to be misjudged as a sporty car. The steering wheel is balanced nicely and gives an overall steady and decent control. Tucson absorbs most of the bumps confidently but the harshest ones do give a nice shock. The final remark on the Tucson’s suspension and handling is that it is neither too sporty nor too loose but a good balance between the two and contrast could be appealing in the market.

Fuel economy and miles per gallon

The EPA rated average score to the fuel economy of both four-cylinder variants. After test-driving the all-wheel 2.4-liter variant, it was noted that the car gives around 26 mpg which matched the value initiated by the EPA.

Interior, comfort and cargo of Hyundai Tucson 2020

Hyundai Tucson 2020 offers a welcoming abode to the passengers. The interior is kept classy with a monochromatic ambiance. The all-black interior tone slightly mixed with the beige upholstery adds to the contrast and simplicity of the European design interior. The seat fabric of standard Tucson is basic but Hyundai claims it to be odor and stain repellant. Leather seating is also available for the Limited and Ultimate models of the Tucson. The cargo room of Tucson is very spacious. It was recorded that the trunk has the capacity to carry 7 carry-on suitcases but if the rear seats are folded down, the added-up space makes enough room to carry 22 such suitcases.

Base model Tucson exhibits a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the Limited and Ultimate model Tucson both have an 8-inch display with an in-dash navigation system.

Driver’s assistance and safety features of the Hyundai Tucson 2020

Tucson was regarded high after passing crash tests of both, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The car is equipped with latest driver’s assistance technology such as automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. Hyundai offers additional features as well but those are optional. Key safety features of Hyundai Tucson include:

  1. Standard Automated Emergency Braking.
  2. Standard Lane-keeping Assist.
  3. Available Adaptive cruise control.

Warranty and maintenance coverage of the Hyundai Tucson 2020

Sister companies, Hyundai and KIA, both offer the most competitive and compelling warranty and maintenance coverages in the auto world.

Hyundai now offers complementary scheduled maintenance as well, which takes it a step higher than the obvious competitors such as Toyota. Limited warranty covers 5 years or 60,000 miles whereas powertrain warranty covers 10 years or 100,000 miles. The complementary maintenance covers 3 years or 36,000 miles.
