All great artists have one characteristic in common, no matter how many complicated tools are offered to them, they’d still prefer to use the most basic instrument to create mind blowing art. Yorkshire-based artist and printmaker Pippa Dyrlaga fits perfectly in this category since all she needs is a blade handle with fine blades to transform simple paper into intricate pieces of art.
Being a student of Art and Design and Curation at Leeds Metropolitan University, Pippa started paper cutting in 2010 and since then has never looked back from creating exceptionally dimensional paper art, which is inspired by her surroundings. The artist shares her work process in a statement, “Most of the time one piece will lead to another, but I sometimes get an idea that I just want to try out, something I have been thinking of for a while. I have always lived in quite inspiring and green places, filled with local wildlife and flora, and much of my inspiration stems from being outside and enjoying it, and feeling like a part of it.”
