In the fast-paced world today where success and failures are defined by material possessions, we often forget that we are essentially just modest beings that are possessed by the mother nature instead. To highlight the unique relationship of nature and man that we so willingly forget, London-based photographer Jason Hawkes took stunning aerial images that show how man is drawn by nature that is the symbol of life, that is, water.
The photographer captured all kinds of water bodies, from seas, oceans, rivers and lakes to swimming pools, lagoon and hot and cold springs. Hawkes reveals the reason of his fascination with water and aerial photography by stating, “I love the amazing array of colors you can get when shooting water, and it fascinates me how people congregate around even the smallest bodies of water… “You get a real sense of freedom when flying. These days 90% of my work is from AS355 helicopters, which are twin jet engine machines. I normally use a Nikon kit, and take four bodies, six lenses, and often shoot tethered to my MacBook Pro importing straight into Adobe Lightroom.”
