Kohler’s Numi 2.0 voice controlled smart toilet will cost you US$7,000

Kohler, the 146-year-old plumbing company, stole the show at CES after revealing its hottest gadget for 2019, which is an intelligent toilet that has ambient mood lighting, built-in surround sound speakers, and Amazon Alexa voice controls.

The Kohler Numi 2.0 Intelligent Toilet is a strange product that exists in a space somewhere between excess and luxury. It draws so heavily on trends in technology and buzzwords that it’s identical to parody. Kohler promised in a press release that customers would find all the practical features in the toilet like water efficiency checks, which makes sure that only necessary amount of water is used. In the dead of night, a convenient feature of smart lighting will make it easy to see your way around the bathroom. The lights are multicolored, dynamic, and interactive so they can adjust to the setting.

This smart toilet also offers personalized cleansing functions that can be set according to your specifications, including drying functionality and a heated seat. Another fantastic feature that you could never think of is voice control. The high-quality speakers in the Numi 2.0 Intelligent Toilet are equipped with Alexa (Amazon’s voice assistant). You can ask any question from it. While sitting on the toilet, you can ask all the home automation processes. The toilet’s lights can also be synchronized with your favorite playlist through Alexa.

David Kohler, CEO, and President of Kohler said that they believe connected technology alone is not enough for customers to personalize their bathroom experiences, but the designs and the incorporation of right technologies should also be considered. At CES the company is debuting a suite of connected products along with the Alexa-compatible toilet. The Veil Lighted Bathroom Collection offers voice control via Google Assistant and Alexa and can be connected through the Kohler Konnect app. A bathroom mirror known as Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror is also rolled out, which offers support through Google Assistant.

Hopefully, the Numi 2.0 Intelligent Toilet will be seen in the market during the first quarter of 2019. The toilet with the white finish costs around US$7,000 and the one with a black finish will be available for US$8,000.
