Quite recently, IKEA introduced its Rognan robotic furniture whose features opened multiple possibilities into the furnishing multiverse. Now, IKEA’s latest line of furniture called the Ravaror includes custom-built pieces that are well-suited for limited spaces and can also be easily dismantled, packed, moved and re-assembled.
“Our starting point and the creative idea was the reality of urban life,” claims Viveca Olsson, the creative leader at IKEA, Sweden. “We asked ourselves; what is needed to turn a small space, such as 12 square meters (129 sq ft), into a home? And what is needed to create that homely feeling even though you might be moving on to a new place soon?”
To answer all such questions, IKEA has launched the Ravaror collection. The line comprises of 20 perfectly crafted pieces which include a daybed, sofa, tables ranging from different sizes, shelves that are of varying shapes and sizes with the ease to fit anywhere, storage boxes on wheels, lamps and a mini kitchen. The furniture pieces are easy to pack up and relocate and can fit in small spaces.
The idea behind IKEA’s Ravaror is that you can disassemble and re-mount the furniture while ensuring the pieces do not endure any physical damage. You don’t need to pivot around too much on tight stairs and small elevators and risk damaging your furniture. It works great for temporary housing, home offices and guest homes.
“The urban population is growing, living spaces are shrinking, and for many of us the concept of home is no longer a geographical constant,” says IKEA. “Råvaror is a new collection designed for these realities and consists of items that quickly turn small spaces into smart spaces with the convenience and comfort of home. And when it is time to move, it’s simple to pack up, stack the items together and relocate to your next home.”
The Ravaror collection is set to be available for purchase in stores all around the world, by September 2020.
