SelgasCano Office Gives Its Workers A Calm Working Atmosphere

Designed by Spanish architects Jose Selgas and Lucia Cano, the SelgasCano office genuinely speaks for the creativity and ingenuity of Madrid based architectural firm. SelgasCano office is one of the most searched buildings on the web lately and for the right reasons too.

Perched right in the middle of nowhere, the SelgasCano office is designed to offer its workers a calm and serene atmosphere to work in surrounded by natural habitat.

Built under the trees, the office takes the shape of an aerodynamic tube with a long glass wall that extends into part of the roof.  SelgasCano’s Alicia Cervera said, “We needed a roof that’s as transparent as possible. At the same time, we needed to isolate the desk zone from direct sunlight so we could still work.”

The glass window + roof wall, floods the office space with natural light, eliminating the need of artificial lighting during day time. While, fiberglass and polyester construction provides shade for the desks. Trees, falling leaves, sunlight, raindrops, the transparent Plexiglas® allows the employees to work around constantly changing forest landscape.

SelgasCano office is half dug into the ground keeping it cool naturally during the summers with a little need of air-conditioning. This truly unique design allows the workers inside to have an eye-level view of the forest floor.
