The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX features 702 horsepower engine to speed its way through rough roads

The all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX features 702 horsepower, 650 pounds-feet of torque, and custom-designed Goodyear tires, all of which add life to its functionality. The tires offer optimum grip on the loose track surface and engine noise has been eliminated.

This 2021 Ram 1500 TRX has a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 Hellcat engine just like all the other FCA engines. While the other engines are built to just be fast on specific surfaces, the TRX can be fast on any sort of track.

It can travel over 100mph even on dirt and needs just raw power to do so. It even boasts a luxurious interior that comes equipped with all of the latest technology.

The Ram 1500 includes stronger steel and the largest coil springs ever

The Ram 1500 Rebel is not all there is to the TRX. A whole new Bilstein Blackhawk e squared adaptive damper system has been added as an upgrade. Additionally, 15-inch large brakes have been added to the system along with Dana 60 rear axle and the largest ever coil springs integrated with the rear wheels.

74% of the frame has also been enhanced with stronger steel and even newer pieces have been included for more strength in contrary to the regular 1500. The 35-inch all-terrain tires were made especially for the Goodyear and allow the TRX to travel up to 118mph.

Since the axles are wider (8 inches to be exact) the TRX is much larger than all the other 1500 models and rests 2 inches higher. The frame reinforcement makes the Ram 1500, 600 pounds heavier when compared to the Ram 1500 with 5.7 liter V-8.

The 4WD low makes it easy to keep control under the rock drive mode. It gets difficult to monitor the road and maintain visibility but the attached camera system can offer multiple views making the drive safe and easy.

The Heavy-duty 2021 Ram 1500 TRX

The heavy-duty TRX is seemingly not too light on the road because the center of gravity shifts higher and the weight of the car can be felt in the corners. Even though the suspension helps to keep things tidy and the 2021 RAM 1500 TRX does not run out of control, it is still difficult to maneuver it around turns.

It, however, launches full speed between 0-60 mph in a matter of just 4.5 seconds and launches to a quarter-mile in 12.7 seconds at 106.3mph on both gravel and concrete. The pedals also have a unique feature making it easier on the road.

The first half of the pedal is kept tame to prevent any lurching. Once you switch to supercharge mode, the pedal helps pick up the pace immediately.

There is a smooth ride experience offered by the car with a quiet cabin. The TRX offers a luxury feel that is difficult to attain under the given circumstances.

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is much more capable and outperforming than the Viper-powered 2004 Dodge Ram STR-10 or the TRD-modified 2008 Toyota Tundra TRD Supercharged, both of which have been the previous champions in this category. The Toyota Tundra is able to go from 0 to 60 mph in just a matter of 4.4 seconds.

Extremely fast speed is credited to a 702 horsepower engine

The engine itself offers a high boost being a 6.2 liter supercharged V-8 with 702 HP and 650 lb-ft of torque. Since there is a restrictive exhaust involved due to the power drop, it allows the TRX to keep up with any sort of off-road racing dust and water fording.

Apart from the very big engine, the TRX has a beefed-up frame that integrates both the electronic adjustability with an old-school remote reservoir that has 60mm pistons. Since the TRX is lifted 11.8 inches off the ground, this makes it easy to maneuver around obstacles. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX also includes locking rear diff, flared fenders, and other fabulous features.

The smooth driving experience offered with a 650 lb-ft torque

The Ram TRX being half super truck and half GT offers a smooth driving experience to all its users. It is easy to steer with accuracy involved and the body roll and brake drive are all eliminated because of the Bilstein shocks.

The 702 horsepower just adds to the fun of driving the truck around in any setting but your comfort and range of features all depend on the price you are willing to pay (so it might just be a little heavy on the pockets)

Baseline prices of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX begin at $71,190

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is priced at $71,190 and includes a $1,895 destination charge but makes up for the price with its features. In comparison, the Ford F-150 Raptor Supercrew is priced at $58,135. The basic package just falls short of a few features like a heated steering wheel and heated front seats, each of which cost an additional amount.

If you include those, the price then extends to at least $75,000 but is still worth the money with all that you get back. There are $1895 18 inch bead lock-capable wheels, $1295 carbon-fiber interior trim, a $1095 head-up display and rear-view camera mirror, and $995 rock rails under the door sills.

The interior includes some leather-trimmed seats, cargo box lighting, a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather and a compartment for storage right under the rear seat. If you wish to include more features like adaptive cruise control, lane-kept assist, a heads-up display, or even a digital rearview mirror, the value might just shoot up to $80,000.

The 2021 Ram 500 TRX can pull 8100 pounds of weight

Even though the TRX is unable to tow just as much as the other Ram models, it is still rated at 12,750 pounds which is frankly quite impressive. It can pull a maximum of 8100 pounds and can carry 1310 pounds of payload.

According to the EPA, the TRX will have 10 mpg in the city and 14 mpg on the highway. The estimated values are much lower than the 2020 Raptor which was rated at 14mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

The interiors of the TRX have taken quite a spectacular turn with this model as it is full of rich-looking materials and even insulated from the noise outside. The inside is plastered with cloth upholstery and equipment which is all based on the Ram 1500 Rebel model.

The TR1 and TR2 packages make the cabin feel a lot snazzier as they are embodied with carbon-fiber accents. There are paddle shifters attached to the flat-bottom steering wheel. A digital rearview mirror, a heads-up display and heated and ventilated front seats have all been made part of the top options.

The 2021 Ram 500 TRX comes equipped with a 12-inch infotainment system with a built-in navigation

There is a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system included as a part of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. It incorporates Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio. There are menus available on the display making navigation easy to handle.

The physical knobs and buttons on the screen add to the intuitive controls and a 900-watt, 19-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system has been integrated.

The 2021 Ram 500 TRX is yet to be tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) but it uses a driver-assistance technology that is bound to make it a safe driving experience. Some of the features include:

  • Available lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist
  • Available blind-spot monitoring
  • Available adaptive cruise control

Besides Nissan, the Ram TRX is able to compete with all other rivals in terms of its powertrain warranties. The following features are offered by the Ram.

  • The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
  • Powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles
  • No complimentary scheduled maintenance

Ram 1500 TRX offers shock absorption and overcomes impacts on the road

The 1500 TRX does an impeccable job on the road. If you drive the vehicle in its high desert environment, in deep washers, and on sandy mountain switchbacks, the Ram TRX functions just as well as a Porsche would on a mountain road.

When you put the truck in Baja mode, the Ram TRX can easily tackle any terrain that you set it on. Most of it can be credited to the super-fast and reliable engine but the TRX suspension also deserves its fair share of appreciation.

The suspension is able to absorb any brutal or sudden impacts and keeps the passengers from any shock. The rubbers of the TRX Goodyear also allow for much more grip on the road.

Being well-armored, the undercarriage gives a large amount of suspension travel and at low range makes it a capable rock crawler. Even the brake pedal has all the unique features that keep it from making the ride difficult for the driver and the passengers.

It easily attains 189 foot stops from 70 mph. After 100 mph, the distance becomes 418 feet, and the 14.8-inch front and 14.9-inch rear brake rotors do just the job.

The best way to experience the Ram TRX 1500 is to stand outside and watch while it tears across the Silver Lake’s 450-acre sandbox. The Baja driving mode proves to work wonders for the suspensions and keeps the car from skidding.

The Ram TRX is so impressive that it might just make you question its performance when compared to others. But all comparison and technical analysis aside, it is easy to figure out that this truck offers the best specifications and consequently the best driving experience.
