These stunning photographs will remind you of Game of Thrones
Whether you have seen the show or not, you must have definitely heard about “Game of Thrones” and quite frankly, cannot deny the greatness of it. A German fan-photographer Kilian Schönberger paid tribute to the show as it ended last year, with a truly stunning collection of photographs. The artist captured the essence of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy world in the icy terrain of Central Europe through his camera. Aligning his surroundings with the story world, Schönberger showed snow covered trees as the White Walkers, majestic mountains as The Wall and the stone structures as the highborn characters of Westeros. The places that featured were the German-Czech border, canyon of Saxon Switzerland, Saxony, and ice cave near Germany’s Lake Königssee.
While talking about his inspiration, Schönberger said, ““Since I grew up myself in a remote forest area, my childhood was shaped by the local fairytales and a lot of experiences out in nature. And that is what’s still visible in my work today. I try to capture the scenes that inspire people to make up their own stories with my photos as a visual backdrop.”
