This stunning concrete and glass house blends perfectly into rainforest surroundings

Modern architecture may all be about concrete and urban landscape but for Jesse Bennett and Anne-Marie Campagnolo, the designer couple, modern architecture corresponds to structures that blend smoothly with the nature. This concept gave rise to the undulating design of their Planchonella House that got completed in 2015.

The 240-square meter house seems to float among the canopies of the surrounding rainforests of Queensland in Edge Hill, Cairns. The design incorporates sculptural curves in its basic concrete form and is further made responsive to its surrounding by the integration of floor-to-ceiling glass wall. The minimalistic L-shaped house allows open spaces in the design while the deep roof not only provides cover to the deck but also serves as a garden on its own.

The interior of the house consists of the usual kitchen, drawing-dining area, a master suite and two bedrooms however the use of timber gives the house an expansive yet earthy look. Check out the pictures to get a complete look into this award-winning concrete-and-glass home!
