This wind powered kinetic sculpture imitates caterpillar’s undulating movement

Beaches do not really need anything to elevate its attraction however, if there is one thing that can do this impossible task, it is artist Theo Jansen’s kinetic sculptures. Jansen has recently unveiled his latest wind-powered strandbeest, UMINAMI and trust us when we say that it looks incredible. Since the artist avoided using hinged joints this time around, the sculpture needs no lubrication either, while it roves along the shore in its caterpillar movement. Watch the stranbeest’s smooth movement on the beach right here!
