In the world of innovations, pollution is also rising day by day. Although, researchers and scientists are doing their best to find alternative ways to reduce pollution and somehow, they are succeeding yet everyone knows how carbon emissions have polluted the environment. We hardly knew that ports produce more air pollution and greenhouses gases. To control this, electric-powered boats have been introduced.
Swedish Company X Shore has introduced 100% electric-powered yachts. The company recently displayed its latest technology which is X Shore Eelex 8000 with a tag line “Power of Silence”. This amazing technology has a range of approximately 100 nautical miles. It is environmentally friendly, which pledges minimum maintenance with a shift from non-renewable energy sources. Besides, it offers you a smooth ride with no noise. Hence noise pollution will also be reduced.
For now, X Shore offers three models: the Eeltrek 8000, the Eelex 8000 and the Eelex 6500. Compared to traditional vessels, these models can reduce 35% energy use and minimize friction. Its’ most significant part is the propulsion system. For improved energy efficiency, this propulsion system is modified with a single shaft construction. Depending on the power source, vessels can be charged in about 8 hours. A 24-inch monitor is included in each vessel. Also, options are there for a 90-kWh battery, and a 120-kWh battery and owners can choose between these two. The looks of this fantastic innovation are drawn from Scandinavia’s vibrant design culture. Even it can be customized according to the individual’s choice.
According to the company’s CEO and founder Konrad Bergstörm, “He had the idea of this technology in the nineties. But due to the lack of resources and technology, it was not possible. But now, as this is the era of technologies and there is demand for innovations, so it is a more logical time to bring this first generation of boats to the market”.
Eelex can accommodate up to 12 people. Soon another model will be launching in autumn, Eeltrek, which will have a closed roof with a cabin. It will also have the capacity for sleeping as well.
